YRG ‘KAOS’ MIDI GUITAR + ABLETON CONTROL SCRIPT

Ever since I got the ‘YRG’ 1000 midi guitar I’ve been interested in ways to modify or customise it. I wanted it to be able to do 2 extra things, clip control with ableton and some kind of kaos pad function. I eventually decided to use two smartphones I had, one as the kaos pad (via an android app) the other using touchOSC for iOS to control ableton. With this combo I have clip, mixer, device control and more with touchOSC and the additional functionality of an XY kaos pad.
Materials required:
- YRG 1000
- Android phone
- iOS device with touchOSC app using livecontrol 1
- Double sided tape to affix
- Small 1/8” jack to jack cable to route android phone audio into YRG1000 aux in.

CLYPH X NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED AS A CONTROL SCRIPT SEE
Replace Ableton/Midi Control Scripts/ClyphX/User Settings.txt with my “User Settings.txt” file
– don’t change any file/folder names- I know its tempting
HAS TO BE LOADED AS 3rd CONTROL SURFACE FOR NOTE REPEAT TO WORK- see CLYPHX manual page 14
MIDI SETTING ON YRG NEED TO BE CHANGED. PRESS MIDI THEN SELECT 18
THIS WILL SPLIT EACH STRING TO A DIFFERENT MIDI CHANNEL!
*Pressing play while using note repeat can freeze ableton sometimes.
